The classic era of Pixar, where everything they made was gold, is probably gone for good. However, they still make solid entertainment.

The movie itself isn’t particularly scary, but the setup, unsettling location and pacing went a long way in keeping my attention.

The Dead Don’t Hurt is clearly the work of a filmmaker getting to make what he wanted. The result is admirable, if generally just okay.

Though we know a lot of Furiosa’s tale coming in, seeing it unfold is still completely captivating.

It is an entertaining, funny, movie that tells its story using its own unique voice.

It is an idea without visual magic or real character motivation to propel it forward.

With a screenplay that knows it should be silly, and two very charming leads, the result is as good this could possibly have been.

I enjoyed Challengers quite a bit, while also being mildly frustrated whenever its style overwhelmed its story.

It doesn’t entertain consistently enough for this to be a total success, but it is a fascinating oddity.

Tense, thought-provoking and hard to shake.
