With a screenplay that knows it should be silly, and two very charming leads, the result is as good this could possibly have been.

I enjoyed Challengers quite a bit, while also being mildly frustrated whenever its style overwhelmed its story.

It doesn’t entertain consistently enough for this to be a total success, but it is a fascinating oddity.

Tense, thought-provoking and hard to shake.

Most of all, it is funny, centered on a bizarrely interesting true story and anchored by predictably strong performances.

Julio Torres gets away with an abundance of quirkiness due to his likability and the oddball charm of his storytelling approach.

It is exciting to see a confident, assured, voice telling an oddly distinct female story. Rose Glass is one to watch and this is one to see.

Arthur the King pushes all the manipulative buttons. I would’ve been really annoyed with it if it didn’t charm me.

It is an accurate example of Blumhouse horror, with a promising high concept, energetic filmmaking, a sense of humor and suspect execution.

As much as I enjoyed the first one, this is even better.
