There are flashes of the twisty fun this could have been here and there, but the result is lazy, sloppily written and surprisingly dull.

Ben Affleck and screenwriter Alex Convery have done something pretty remarkable here: they have made this story consistently entertaining.

Ridley Scott may be known more for action and sci-fi, but he proves that he can make an epic of ideas, rather than merely one of spectacle.

There were certainly times The Way Back felt honest, until it dove deeper into its formulas.

Some more insight into all of the characters would have been greatly appreciated, but I am sure they will get around to character developmen
