The premise sounds simple, but this is a very cinematic auteur’s picture. It is remarkable.

It is a quiet, perceptive, movie, concerned with what lays underneath the anger, and filled with pain.

It is a good movie, that never forces its point-of-view on the audience, with a couple of great performances.

Subtlety is a myth in this movie. The message is valuable; the execution is definitely not.

It is one of the most entertaining movies of the year and a clear favorite to win some Oscars in March.

There can be an unreal beauty to stop-motion when done right. Writer/director Adam Elliot has definitely done it right.

The makers of Absolution don’t seem to have any idea of how to begin to truly explore that subject. It barely gets to surface level.

Don’t be put off by the subject matter. This is skillful entertainment.
